Post Cosmania 2026 Feels

As the year goes on, Cosplay PH continues to roll out its steady lineup of events, with Cosplay Mania serving as its penultimate major event of the calendar year. It pulled out all the stops once again. Sure, there may have been a few incidents here and there, but overall, the event was a blast, bringing together different facets of the cosplay and gaming community under one roof.

Different Shades of Cosplay Everywhere

Veteran cosplayers, newcomers to the hobby, and even kids cosplaying alongside their parents—there’s always something fun about seeing just how many different people the hobby brings together.

The characters and franchises represented this year were an especially fun mix of old and new. Some people came in with elaborate costumes, while others simply wore something they wanted to wear, and honestly, that's part of the fun.

There also wasn't one overwhelmingly dominant franchise like we saw during the Genshin Impact or Sword Art Online cosplay eras. Sure, there were plenty of overlaps, but the sheer variety of characters throughout the weekend was refreshing.

Of all the cosplays I saw, though, my personal favorite was Takaba from Jujutsu Kaisen. I don't even know the character, nor do I watch the series, but seeing that cosplayer go all-in and be as animated as possible reminded me of what cosplay is supposed to be: fun, unfiltered, and sometimes just a little bit deranged.

And honestly? That's exactly the kind of energy I want to see.

The Best Layout for the Grandest Stage

For an event with one of the grandest stages in the local cosplay scene, layout can make or break a convention. With SMX as the venue, overcrowding is always a concern.

The first day, which fell on a Friday, was relatively barren compared to the weekend, although that can probably be attributed to it being a weekday. If anything, it made Friday a great day to go shopping and explore without having to fight through the weekend crowds.

The most impressive part for me was just how spacious the Artist Alley was.

Normally, artist alleys can get packed to the point where guests and booths feel like they're being squeezed together like a can of sardines. This time, however, there were massive pathways throughout the area, with some sections having as many as three to five lanes of walking space.

Traffic wasn't nearly as bad as in previous years, and it was even possible to stop for photos with cosplayers without completely disrupting the flow of people, as long as everyone remained respectful of the crowd.

There's not much else to say about the food and rest areas, which Cosplay PH has seemingly perfected at this point. Sponsor booths were also present without feeling overly invasive.

Sometimes, simply having enough space to breathe, walk around, shop, and enjoy the event is all you can ask for, especially at a convention of this scale.

Amazing Stars and Performances All Throughout

Cosplay Mania wouldn't be Cosplay Mania without the cosplayers, guests, and performances happening throughout the weekend.

The All Star Alley featured more than 40 booths with local and international guests, while the main stages were packed with performances leading into each night's JAM Concert.

From what I saw, the cosplay guests were great, with plenty of opportunities for fans to interact with the people they came to see. I'm sure those little moments are something their respective communities will treasure.

But on the other side of the venue, the energy was just infectious.

The cosplay competitions were fierce, the performances were entertaining, and the JAM Concert once again delivered. There's honestly not much introduction needed for these shows anymore—they've become one of the reasons to attend Cosplay Mania in the first place, especially if you're a fan of the performers.

Truth be told, there aren't many other local events where you can get this particular combination of cosplay, performances, guests, competitions, and sheer spectacle all in one place.

As usual, Cosplay Mania delivered.

The Prisma Saga Continues

Cosplay Mania 2026 was a successful weekend and, for the most part, a well-organized one. After more than a decade of attending Cosplay PH events, it's honestly impressive that Cosplay Mania can still feel fresh while retaining the things that made it work in the first place.

Would I say Cosplay PH events are a must-attend?

Far from it.

But if you have a family member or friend who's interested in cosplay, anime, gaming, or any of the other communities that have grown around these events, bringing them along is absolutely worth considering. Seeing someone discover a hobby they love—or even getting infected by their enthusiasm and joining them—is part of what makes conventions like these special.

And the year isn't even over yet.

With Cosmeet later this month and Cosplay Matsuri waiting at the end of the year, the Prisma Saga continues. After everything Cosplay Mania brought to the table, I'm genuinely curious to see what surprises, performances, cosplays, and, of course, merch are waiting for us at the next events.

For now, though, I'll take the post-con blues and look back at another weekend well spent.
